what exhaust?

ok, trying to figure out the differences in all these after market exhaust systems. I see a lot of these systems that just bolt together, some use the factory hangers and others use new hangers. I am kinda leary of having all these clamps holding my exhaust together without having leaks. Is this something to worry about? How much of a difference will eliminating the cat/and or the muffler improve the performance and reliability of my truck? will it even? I dont want a super loud truck. I want something that will be reliable, improve my performance or cool the egt's. What is a realistic system to get? What are the most important parts in the system that i should concentrate on?

some of the adds are hard to tell if i need to have the pipes welded or not.

any info suggestions would help as long as you have tried the system.

This is on my 04 6.0. no performance mods yet. thanks JR

Any aftermarket exhaust will work for you. Just depends on what you want as there is lots to choose from. Whether its Bolt-together or Clamp together with u-bolts or band clamps, they all work. You could also opt to have all joints welded, as I did. No worries of leaks or getting loose. Also easier to install an exhaust system that use the factory hangers in place (same as old exh. system). This eliminates the guesswork during the installation process. Research and compare.

If your state doesn't require emissions do cat and muffler delete. I noticed a nice difference then factory. I have a MBRP 4" turbo back and love it. Sounds really good and gives off that nice whistle
