I've been using DELO, DELVAC, & ROTELLA since i bought my first diesel truck in 2001 & all three have been good.

Mobil 1 15w40? Unless I am missing something I believe mobil one only comes in 5w40 for diesel oil.

Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil

If your getting mobil one 5w40 TDT for 12 bucks a gallon that is a great deal. If your getting mobil delvac 15w40 your only saving about a buck off the wally world price.

I use Rotella's, both the 15w-40 and now the T6 5w-40. Love the stuff.

:scare2: Stay away from Fram filters!!!! I use Fleetguard, Mobil, or Baldwin ONLY. Fram Filters SUCK and will cost you big time. Dont skimp on Oil or Fuel filters. Use only Quality filters. A few extra bucks for quality filters is cheap insurance for your diesel. Or use what the Manufacturer Recommends.

rufushusky 09-16-2012 10:15 PM

On the ford 6.0 application fram, racor and motorcraft are all the same oil filter.

To the op, how cold is it getting in your area? A 5w40 or diesel rated 10w30 go a long way to help the cold blooded 6.0.

94cummins12v 09-17-2012 09:00 PM

well actually not "Cold" cold start any over night cold start our nights in the summer get down to upper 50*s but that shouldnt be that cold id hate to see what it does when it gets below 0* here it uns fine once it warms up but man you start it up after sitting over noght and it runns rough also when i pin it when its cold like that it doesnt do anything after starting it and outting it in gear i can pin it to the floor an nothing not even smoke but if i let it idle for 5min i cab get going and after another 5 of driving it runs great

Sounds like your having stiction issues. A 10w30 or 5w40 diesel rated will help that.

i talked to my budy that is gunna give me the moble one said it is syntheitc but i forgot to ask him what weight it is. he told me 15qt of it i can get it from him for $40

rufushusky 09-23-2012 12:02 AM

Whatever it is make sure it is at least CI-4 or Cj-4 rated. Otherwise don't run it in a 6.0, it will shear it to tar.

Check your facts before posting WRONG information please. The filters you're recommending are total junk for the 6.0 application. Fram, and Motorcraft/International are the only filters I will run, in a 6.0.

Now with that said, I wouldn't use Fram in anything else if it was the only option, their spin on filters are junk. However, for this application, they're cartridge style filters. The wrong oil filters cause more damage to 6.0's than anything else. Poor running/starting, some even completely starve the engine of oil, because they don't sit in the oil filter housing correctly. If the oil filter comes with it's own cap, don't use it. You'll find the Fram and Motorcraft filters share the same P/N's on the base of the filter... they're the same thing, and the ONLY one I'd recommend.

Seems cheap enough, just make sure it's the right stuff, like rufushusky is suggesting... I would also highly recommend testing your batteries and your FICM, and maybe picking up a couple bottles of rev-x oil additive. It's amazing stuff.
