Need Help! Lots Of Problems!!!

First off Hi, my name is Jesse i'm new here and i wanted to thank everyone in advance for any help. The truck is a Auto 07 6.0 Powerstroke and its not mine but my dads that he uses to pull a heavy cargo trailer for his work. I also want to apologize if this is a very long or confusing thread. The truck also has afe stage 2 cold air intake and a sct programmer with 55hp tow tune.

First problem Is that all the gauges every single one of the stops working and comes back on at any giving time, and i can also hear a relay click. It does this with or without the trailer plugged in.

Second problem While pulling the trailer and only pulling the trailer, "sometimes" it will jerk like hell downshifting or shifting period but it does not do it all the time. Also the tow haul light started flashing today.

Third problem While stopped at a light or stop sign the truck will have no power and while giving it gas all of a sudden it will jump and jerk into gear all of a sudden and go. Sometimes it has to be given gas to go into drive or reverse also.

I was thinking that maybe its got to do with the sct programmer? It started a few hundred miles after installing it.

Here are all the codes in it..

P0645
P115A
P0761
P2702
U0155
U0100

Also seems like all this started happening when the gauges started acting funny

Alot of times when the guages go off and on it is caused by a connector loose by the drivers side fenderwell. You will see 3 or 4 connectors below the air filter assembly, go ahead and pull them apart and then reconnect and make sure they "snap" together,

Okay so I tried this and even before with all those codes the check Engine light was never on. After i unplugged all those plugs and plugged them back in the check engine light was on and the gauges still kept going off and back on. So i used the SCT to look at the codes all the previous codes were gone and a new code P0657 was in there. I'm not sure why all the other codes were gone? The truck also still runs and shifts life shit! Also i returned the truck to stock because if i can't figure this out by monday its going to the Stealership.

Usually once the tow/haul light starts flashing it means the transmission is on it's way out, BUT, lets not jump to conclusions just yet...

P0645 - PCED A/C clutch relay control circuit A/C circuit, A/C relay
P115A - Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Malfunction (though I've heard it comes on if you run the truck really low on fuel in some cases!?)
P0761 - Shift Solenoid C Performance/Stuck Off
P2702 - Trans Friction Element C Apply Time Range/Ref
U0155 - lost connection with instrument cluster
U0100 - lost communication with ECM/PCM

Have you changed tunes recently? Everything I read about the lost communication with the ECM/PCM says it clears itself after driving more, but it could just be your tunes.

The instrument cluster sounds right, but it sounds like you may have found that one out by unplugging and replugging all the connectors like Bob suggested.

P0657 - actuator supply voltage A circuit open

When's the last time the batteries were checked? I'd start there.

Sounds like it needs a new solenoid in the transmission. I'll attach a PDF in my next post that shows the parts needed. They're really simple to change.

Here's a parts break down of the 5R110, you can see the shift solenoids listed in here:

Okay i appreciate the help a lot. We took the truck to a local diesel mechanic this morning. One problem was that the engine ground on the passenger side head was off. I'm not sure if this could cause the gauges to act weird? but the trans problems showed that the pressure solenoid was bad along with solenoid A being bad.. Solenoid A was stuck open.. So i'm hoping this takes care of the problem.

That will definitely be your trans issues. These trannies are really stout, especially coupled with custom tunes. Are you using custom, or just the canned SCT tunes?

The solenoids are relatively inexpensive too, so that shouldn't be too bad. Has the transmission ever been serviced?

Its just running a canned 55hp tow tune. I have been trying to talk my dad into having a custom tune done but he doesn't want to listen right now, he just wants his truck running right again haha. And i'm not really sure if it has or not we've only owned the truck for about 4 months or so. It has 150k on it.

Might not hurt to have it done at the Ford dealer (tranny flush) after you get it figured out.

im still trying to figure out if the dash stopped cutting out when he unplugged the connectors under the air filter housing
