Rough idle
 

Have a 04 f350 that i just bought 113xxx miles on it i have run some red diesel thru it now it has starting running rough and rolling a little black smoke every so often it will clear up but not for long have no mods done yet

Shouldn't have anything to do with the red dye. Red diesel is the exact same chemical makeup as good ol' #2. Anyone who tells you they get more power from it is lying, the only difference is the dye, and it is dyed red so that it can be easily noted that it does not have road tax on it. Your true problem is unknown at this time, some of the guys might be able to help out but will most likely need more information. I can almost guarantee that it didn't start BECAUSE of the red diesel, just happened to start when you put it in...unless it wasn't clean and clogged up your fuel filters.

I am 100% sure that the red fuel has nothing to do with it my welding machine runs great on it and i would think if my filters are dirty or clogged the truck would struggle more at wot have read alot about how the engine oil can cause the injectors to " stick or foul " think i will change the oil and try some rev-x unless anyone has more info the truck does idle quit a bit i hope i have no made a bad investment in this one

If it idles for long periods then there is a good chance of wet-stacking in which case there is not enough heat to completely burn all of the fuel. I recommend doing a high idle mod, super quick and easy to do, about 10 minutes max.

Now the truck has started shaking at various rpm and engine loads and showing no codes. Who can i get the high idle mod from?

Sounds a little more serious than just a sticking turbo now if it's shaking etc.

How old are the batteries? Have you tested the FICM? Has the EGR valve been out and cleaned at all?

I have not tested anything yet have only had the truck for a little more than a month runs sluggish until it shifts to 2nd then runs great small amount of black smoke added rev x and it has helped alot it only shakes around 1400 to 1600 rpm

Test the FICM.

Any info on the other pto wire would also be helpful
