ok when i setting up my list of truck stuff to buy im wanting to do the edge cts moniter and the sct tunner im wanting to moniter everything there is to moniter is the edge cts moniter available to do this edge is selling me the edge cts moniter for $250 with the return of the edge evolution that came in my truck when i bought it , any opinions on this combinatiion would be great

or is the sct livewire a better choice to be able to moniter and tune on the fly since i want the sct programmer anyway

Make SURE that Edge is not talking about a power program monitor. Also, keep in mind that while both have the ability to monitor EGTs, both require an add-on EGT probe. For $250 and a chance to get rid of some Edge junk, I'd do it.

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a trade in on that POS Attitude blah blah blah towards a CTS monitor. :humm:

im guesing im not able to keep my evolution probe?

The CTS and SCT are a good combo. I like the CTS screen a lot more than the livewire setup, but it's all preference. Just make sure you're only tuning with the SCT device. Get custom tunes for sure.

No, the probes connect completely different. The CS/CTS uses a probe that ultimatley hooks into the back of the monitor.

If they did it the other way, then you wouldn't have to buy their proprietary probes! How would they make any money? haha

is the livewire shift on the fly?

Karls03 08-15-2012 08:37 AM

I don't believe they are given that they use the same programs as the hand held SCTs.

Mdub707 08-15-2012 12:01 PM

No. You don't want anything that's shift on the fly. SCT doesn't offer anything that's shift on the fly. Any real programmer does not do shift on the fly.

ok just thought id ask. well when i get some coinage saved up ill trade in my edge evolution for the edge cts moniter than call a distributer on this site for a sct with some custom tunes. with the cts moniter eot and ect aswell? for monitering i want to be able to moniter: egts, boost, rpm, ect and eot, fuel pressure and maybe the FICM voltages
