6.0 No Start

I'm trying to figuire out why my sons 2003 F-350 6.0 turns over but wont fire and need some help. Here is a little history

3 weeks ago he shut the truck off at the quickshop came out and and had a turn over no start condition. He is working in ND and took it to the nearest mechanic in the area they replaced the HPOP, IRP,IRC, glow plugs, glow plug module ($3500) He came back home (KS) for a funeral and the truck stopped running. He stopped to get something to drink came back out, truck started but died. I have checked the pressure release valve beneath the regular oil pump all seems good. I also changed the oil that was not done when they replaced the HPOP. I checked the check valve at the bottom of the oil filter it seems good. The FICM test out ok. The scanner doesn't show any codes other than a P0100 thats always been there. He does have an edge attitude programmer that is not hooked at the moment because of my scan tool. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What are you scanning with? Can you try and monitor ICP desired, ICP actual and IPR % duty cycle? Let us know what those are reading, cranking, if you can get it running and then driving if possible (doesn't sound possible now).

Sounds like whoever did the work had no clue what they were doing and threw a bunch of parts at it.

Have the batteries been tested at all? Even weak batteries will show odd symptoms.

What did the FICM test at? You tested it during key on, engine off/cranking/running?

Is the low pressure oil gauge on the dash coming up while you're cranking?

So does the truck currently not start? When cranking, is it smoking at all? What color?

I'll try this and get back to you when I get home from work

They are both fully recharged after he drained them from try to start it on the side of the road. He hates getting pictures of it on a tow truck!

48 before and during cranking

I'll check this tonight also

correct it will not start and I dont see any smoke white or otherwise. But I'll try again tonight and pay attention in the mirror.

I should also mention that I'm getting good fuel flow to the top filter if that helps

Unsderneath the inlet elbo is a butterfly valve, might not hurt to remove the elbow and see if that valve is open, if not then push it open and then later on get a 05 and up elbow that would replace the 2 part unit that is on the truck, had 2 other people recently that this happened to, it sits right below the albo where the intercooler pipe hooks up on front top of engine

Good call on that one Bob.

Check the oil pressure gauge on the dash. It takes probably a good 6 or 7 seconds of cranking before mine comes up, so don't be alarmed if it doesn't come up right away.

To me, no smoke says no injector firing. Meaning it's an electrical issue, or a high pressure oil issue, but those butterfly valves have been known to cause similar symptoms.

Sorry for the delay, I checked for the butterfly valve and there isn't one so the previous owner must have replaced that.
I dont see the oil pressure light but the gauge stays at 0 even after cranking for longer than I like to. I do see oil coming into the oil filter while cranking so I know that part is working. And I double checked but there is no smoke at all when I'm cranking it is like I'm not getting fuel to the cylinder. I should also mention he had the EGR delete installed while they were in there messing around and he also has a K&N air filter. Not sure if these factor into anything.

It started and ran before the EGR install? And now it doesn't?

If no smoke is coming out, the injectors are not even firing. So fuel is being delivered to the injector, but the injector is not pushing it out to the cylinders.

This is typically either an electrical issue like the FICM being dead (yours tested good) or a high pressure oil issue. I'd pull the IPR and check it out. If you have access to a scanner, ICP desired, ICP actual, IPR duty cyle, we need those numbers. It needs 525psi of oil pressure to even activate it to get it to run.
