F250 6.0 V8 diesel. Recently replaced OIl cooler and EGR. Now truck want start sometimes after being ran and today killed on me 3 times while driving down road when stopping at red lights. wait a few a starts up again? Any suggestions.

It would help alot to get this on a scanner and record/ ICP desired-ICP actuall-IPR duty cycle.
Have you tested your FICM, it's easy and only takes about 15 minutes if smeone helps you,
A bad ICP sensor can cause stalling but so can bad FICM or even a high pressure oil leak so before you buy any parts a scan could save you alot of money.

No i have not tested any of that. I just reeived a call from the shop and they told me that is was a loose clamp on some line going to the turbo that was causing it to have a vacuum leak and that is what was causing it to kill on me.??????

how would i know about a high pressure oil leak. i see no signs of a oil leak. where do i need to check

?? had to be from the air filter to turbo if it was a vaccum leak. The high pressure oil leak would be inside the motor and you can't see it, generally it causes troulble with starting when it is warmed up, if it was bad enough to stall it then it would not restart untill the oil cooled down.

very confused right now.
list of problems
1-replaced the oil cooler and EGR
one week later drove truck 5 miles, then parked for 45 minutes, got in a would not start, just turn over, then after about 15 minutes it started.
then used truck and not happened again.
used truck made several stops and truck started at every stop, then made last stop for about 15 minutes and go to leave and truck would not start for about 30 minutes. No trouble after that.
3 days later pulling out of parking lot and truck killed in middle of road,waited 5 minutes and started.
Today started right up this morning drove 24 miles stopped to put fuel and truck would not start, finally after about 35 minutes and a someone telling me to put some gas on a napkin and put in by the air filter it started right up.
drove it another 18 miles then it started killing while driving, wait 5 minutes and it would start right back up. drove it another 8 miles or so and when i pulled it intothe shop it killed. ??? not a diesel person need some suggestions.

Give us some detailed info and I'm sure we can get you on the right track.

Sounds like it might just be loose wiring even. I would test the FICM as well, and it would be really nice to know ICP desired, ICP actual, and IPR duty cycle. You would need a scanner or monitor of some sort to watch these things.

Info, do you have a programmer? and basically and aftermarket stuff and also Mileage.
Sounds like the High pressure oil leak I was describing, classic symptoms. A diesel shop should be able to do an air test on the HP oil system, if you have a compressor you could do it yourself and save some $$, you can buy the fitting required at ford or off of ebay. To take care of all the parts that cause the high pessure oil leaks is going to cost around $175 from Tousley Ford/best prices I've seen on this stuff/ It's something most people with a decent set of tools can do in a weekend, basic metric socket set and some wrenches, most of it is done with an 8mm and 10mm and a 12mm for the valve covers, the only special tools you would need are a 10mm allen wrench and a 12mm allen wrench to replace dummy plugs, I bought a whole set from andvance auto parts for around $20 and they fit on a socket driver.

like i said im new at the diesel thing and what do you mean by a programmer? what aftermarket stuff? how doyou do the HP oil system test with a air compressor at home?
And what parts would i need to take care of the HPoil leaks?

a programmer lets you add horsepower and torque with the push of a button, aftermarket intake/air filter, exhaust ect.. the most common problems are the dummy plugs it the oil rail that sits in under the valve covers, the standpipes that feed the oil rails have orings that fail, the last item is the STC-snap to connect fitting on the high pressure oil pump itself, the pump is located under a cover that sits below the turbo and pedestal. Check out google images of items described, also you can do a search on youtube, there are some good videos on turbo removal and stc fitting replacement. I think all the parts cost a total of around $175 to fix this problem.
