Excursion exhaust

Anyone that can recommend a good aftermarket exhaust or muffler ? I would like to free mine up a little but DO NOT want any mind bending drone or otherwise annoying or loud noise inside the truck

My wife has a dimond eye system, which she installed herself...

Not loud at all... Her truck is so fricking quiet.:argh:

Which Diamond eye did she use ? Any idea what it cost her ?? (or is that the part she doesn't do ?? ......and you handle the paying for it part ?):tttt:

LOL... Nope... I get an allowance. I have a little issue with money. If I have it, I spend it...:ouch:

She got it from a friend of ours... I paved his parking lot (muffler shop) and got a bunch of stuff in trade for it...

Long story short it was retail of about $350 bucks IIRC.

Any of the sponsers should be able to get you one for about that same cost. A superduty unit will NOT fit.

Sounds like my situation.....she has the money.....I haven't seen the check book for like 9 yrs. All I know is the lights are on,the house is warm and there's food and beer in the fridge ! Maybe I'll request a quote then.......Got a great deal on a new trans temp from GOS performance doing that.........you sure it's not loud inside ?? Have you had it on any long trips ? Did she go with stainless ?

Its aluminized... And very quiet.

You cant believe how quiet it is. We have gone on lots of long trips with it. We always take it over the GBB (Great Big Bitch=my truck)...

I did an MBRP 3.5 inch down tube into a 4 inch Dynomax cat back (yes, I could have saved money and headache by buying a 4 inch turbo back system from the start). Anyway, no cat, no resonator, and the straight through muffler was very liveable inside. In fact, with the windows up, it isn't too bad now that I dumped the muffler too. However, it is a loud throaty exhaust when you put your foot in it! :tu:

Be-lay my last, I completely missed that 7.3 part. The only person I know with a modified exhaust on a 7.3 is a 4 inch down tube, 5 inch exhaust, no muffler, no cat. Its pretty obnoxious on the throttle, but a muffler could solve that. It's an aluminized kit from Summit Racing Equipment.

I just installed a 4" Diamond Eyes turbo back system with cat delete. It took over 4 hours and most of that time was trying to get the down pipe from the turbo removed. There was a lift point bolted to the back passenger side of the block that was in the way for a easy removal. I finally had to remove the trans dip stick and remove all the added heat shield from the pipe. I had just enough room to get it free.

I love the sound of the exhaust. I can hear the turbo winding up when I accelerate. The inside sound is barely noticeable when cruising down the road. I paid 265.00 for the kit plus 50 bucks for the cat delete. It is a nice kit, but the lower cost comes with some design shortages IMO.
