Drivetrains?
Why does the Diesel industry put 3:73, 4:10 gears along with automatic transmisssions behind diesel engines, diesels are supossed to be standard shift, and at least 4:56 gear in my views, I just dont understand why the diesel industry, want automatic trnasmissions and higher gearing?

my 83 came from the factory with 3.05 gears.
some were made for fuel mileage also. a manual 4 speed with 4.56 gears will NOT go any master than 55 mph. no need for that low of a gear. my dually works fine with 410 gears. |
how much weight can you pull with the stock gearing on hills? just curious?
|
i have had 15000 behind it and yea it slows down on hills but never below 45. and by hills i mean pocono mnts.

WOW :)
