Timing settings?

Where should the timing be set on a 92 idi without a turbo?
How about my 86 6.9 without a turbo? is it the same?
How about both with a turbo? Is that a different setting? Or is there one setting that cover them all? (Like 8.5 degsees BTDC)

the happy spot is 9.0-9.5 BTDC. that is for all ford idi engines turboed or not.
