lift vs. driveshafts
oh **** haha im thinking about lifting it only 6 inches now because ive heard from numerous sources that maryland (where i live) is very strict on its laws concerning lifted vehicles. i dont wanna attract any unwanted attention from the local authorities and i dont feel like being harassed. im thinking i shoudl just measure down vertically front hte u joint caps 6 inches and then measure from that point to the u joints on the t-case. anybody here think that would accurate information on how much longer my driveshafts would need to be?
i dont think that will work becasue keep in mind when u lift the truck the axles get pitched for the angle of the shaft. to measure the lenght for the shaft the truck needs to have the lift on and needs to be sitting at ride hight, then if ur tcase is a slip yolk y need to push the yolk all the way in the tcase till it bottoms out then measure from the center of the ujoint caps on the tcase to the one on the axle, and that the measure ment u give to the place doing ur drive shaft, they will factor in yolk slip,
