7.3 wvo conversion
 

anybody have any suggestion for a replacement fuel pump for my rear tank. not sure if i need to upgrade pump or run wvo filtered to 5 micron through the factory. also wandering how the mpg is affected by the veg oil? im in the early stages ofa conversion, working on a filtering station at home right now, any ideas appreciated

just use a booster pump like ya find at atuozone or advances or one of them stores thats what i use and have had no probolems.. filtering i use a old pair of jeans and pump it through that catches all the fats and particals and it dont clog my on board fuel filter. any questions feel free to ask i got about 50000 miles on my conversion "(homemade)

The biggest problem with using a stock fuel tank is you will get a build up of polymer on the inside of the tank that can flake off, commonly called chicken skin. the veggie oil reacts with the steel. Your best bet is to buy plastic tank or build yourself an aluminum tank to go in the back of the bed, asked me how I know. I've been through this had to constantly replaced fuel filters and had a problem with my injector pump leaking, which may or may not have been related to the problem may have just been time for it to happen. The good thing if you put an extra tank in the bed that would give you three tanks, which would really extend your range. that way you can use pretty much your stock system and have just an electric fuel pump for the tank in the bed and a separate fuel filter. That way if you get in trouble, you can always switch back to the original system. Be sure your oil is really hot for switching over. This can be done number ways I'm sure you've seen on the Internet.

:moon:im wanting to bypass the old fuel lines on the drivers side of the frame that go to the back tank. probly replace the back tank and then run new supply and return lines to a booster pump on the frame that runs to the 6 port fuel selector on the drivers side. im wandering if i should move the fuel selector valve closer to the IP to speed up the changeover. if anyone has done this setup on this truck any ideas?

anybody know what kind of gpm or psi rating i should get for the pump that is lifting the wvo out of the tank. also should the pump push the oil through my wix filters or pull it through them? im running 3/8" heater hose for supply and return, any problems?:c::c:
