94' 7.3 idi turbo
I am having problems getting the truck to bust off without pumping the gas. I just bought it from the second owner. He already told me that one of the injectors needs new o-rings. Could this be causing the problem? Only thing that baffles me is it acts like it is getting air in the system ant the fuel filter is a brand new wix filter. Any help solving this problem is greatly appreciated.:argh:

if the return line orings are leaking air intrustion will occur and hard starting will be present. get a fuel line return kit and install.

Thanks Crawler. I may need a little more help from you later with this old girl.

ask away.

Well, the starter positive was loose and so was the battery positive. She started up from there with a little shot of ether. Now just wondering if part of the fuel problem was due to the voltage and the filter water drain not being closed and sucking some air. I still need to change the o-rings on that one injector. I really need to use my head a little more and brush up on my diesel mechanics.:s:
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Also, what is the pan directly below the torque converter with the open ended nipple sticking out of it? |
pic? not sure what u are talking about cept for the torque converter access panel.
|
I don't have a pic. All that I can tell you it that it is about a foot long with an open end nipple sticking straight out toward the rear. I figured that it might be some kind of over flow drain or something. But, it is directly below the torque converter.
|
I think you are meaning the dust cover.
|
Could be, but it looks like a little oil coming out of that nipple.
|
They all have oil coming out of it, its no big deal. It leaks from the rear main seal
