Is the lift pump supplying fuel to the IP?

Hyde 09-06-2010 12:26 AM

Like I said before, check your fuel pressure and flow from the lift pump, just cause its new doesnt mean anything.

yes the lift pump is suppling fuel to the injection pump and if u look at how much the lift pump is supplying u can tell it is suppling plenty of pressure

Watching it come out the fitting isnt a good judge of pressure. Do you know anyone with a gauge?

no i dont my dad probally does and one of my dads buddys is about to have a spear IP he is getting ready to take his out and put a new one in because the one in his truck now is leaking but it still works and every thang so im going to see if it changes any thang with my truck

DieselCrawler 09-07-2010 11:29 PM

did u have ur pump off? was it reinstall correctly? possibly timing off?

cumminurway 09-08-2010 07:17 AM

well i had it was doing the same thang before i took it out to get it tested

DieselCrawler 09-08-2010 10:52 AM

have you tried hotwiring the pump? wire from batt + to FSS. does take a while to fill the ip and lines with fuel before getting it to come out at injectors. last one i did took 4 or 5 tries with cranking it over, 15 seconds at a time then 5 - 10 mins for starter to cool.

cumminurway 09-08-2010 08:44 PM

yeah i tried hotwiring it before i had it tested and still never got any thang but i never tried doing it several times in a row but i will and i will let u no if there are any changes
