any ideas?

hi all,
new diesel owner here of an 85 f250 6.9L that has a few issues....
here is a little background as to what it had on it and what has been done to it
when i bought it the glow plug system was disconnected and they had an ether start system installed.....yeah i know lol anyway i pulled that off installed new glow plugs and hooked up the harness again and she fired right up. the main issue at this time is after it warms up to temp and you shut it down it is hard to start back up that and when you throttle up every now and then it misses and knocks like an injector is stuck (driving a semi it sounds like when i dropped one years ago) but talking to a few mechanics at our shop i get a couple of different things it could be injectors, injection pump, bad fuel,or the injection pump is out of time. the truck has over 100,000 miles on it and when it runs there is the bluish smoke like its not burning all the fuel. any ideas? feel free to contact me if you need more info on what its doing. thanks in advance for any help you can pass along

im not to sharp on these motors but i did own one once upon a time.....there is a little strainer screen inside one of the fuel line connections at the injector pump...if it clogs you get some symptoms like yours or you dont get any run at all. also could be pump out of time which is possible especially if its been replaced before. i dont think injectors are a "common" problem per-say but im sure some one else here can chime in. good luck:tu:

injectors and ip are known to wear out around 100000-125000 miles.
