would old glowplugs make er smoke?

bad glowplugs would make it start hard when cold...

On an old 7.3 idi I had it did the same thing ands it was because the timing on the injector pump wasn't right

Some bad GP's can make it smoke(white) for about 10-30 seconds after cold startup but wont cause it to smoke constantly. Pump timing can cause constant smoke if it's too far advanced or retarded.
