major problem with oil

I have a 87 ford f350 with a 6.9 and a banks turbo that was instaled with the conversion. I have had it since dec. It would use about a quart every 4 fill ups. I recently sold the truck to a friend who began cleaning it up. He degreased the engine bay and as soon as he was done we went for a ride. It began to pour oil out from the back of the motor. It was pooling on both sides of the engine so we changed the valve cover gaskets thinking that was what it was leaking from. It seamed to stop the leak untill we drove it today. After another wash and drive dry it went to leaking again and now it seems to have water in the oil and smokes from the dipstick tube when removed. Also seems to have exsesive pressure in the radiatior because I noticed the top hose was swelling up much larger than normal. What would cause this sudden leak and why would the oilbe contanmiaded? Also the truck only has bout 90000 on the trip.

possible headgaket. is there water in the oil?

the smoke out dipstick at idle is fine. when the rpms come up does it go away?

leak could also bee the oil pressure sending unit or turbo feed line.

Yea it looks like there is water in the oil. It turned a grayish color

yea, water in oil then. let it sit for a day or two and open the drain plug. see if any water comes out first.

sounds like it poped a headgasket.

Yea I believe its the head gasket. What I don't understand in how or whys it was so sudden? I looked at the oil tha has pooled under the truck and sinse ut has sat a few days the antifreeze is noticable.

Good news!!!!! It wasn't a head gasket. The oil leak and water in the oil both derived from the balky pan. I never thought that much oil would come from the back of the vally pan.

Same problem

Is Oil coming out of the valley drain caused by to much blowby? Im having that problem with a 6.9 L Oil coming out of the valley drain plug.

I dont think it was caused by blow by. It just wasnt properly reinstalled by the preivious mech. The oil was actually draining down the back of the block and looked like a rear main had gone bad. Once we changed the vally pan gasket it stopped the leak. It seems the vally pan and or turbo drain seal can and will leak a ton of oil if not correctly sealed. It will also allow water into the engine when sprayed for cleaning. I know the gasket is a little pricy but worth replacing if you have a suspecting leak and is no way as complicated as it looks.
