Default Odd Radiator

Noticed that my radiator on the 6.9 was hot on the top yet cold on the bottom. Top hose hot, Bottom hose cold. So I drained the radiator to see if it was clogged, NO clog. Drove the truck for 40 miles and it didn't overheat. Maybe it's because of the colder weather. I have no clue? It just seems odd? Any suggestions?

It's a huge radiator, sounds like it is doing it's job. Even when my original radiator was plugged with crud, it still kept the motor cool.
