Truck Appearence

I have a cotton pickin question. Dont I always..... If it was yall, would you put an after market hood on your truck. Like a cowl hood or a scooped hood??? I was thinking about air flow and trying to keep heat out of my engine compartment and thought about an aftermarket hood.

If you do, make sure you put a screen on the backside to keep the cotton out of the engine.

I like the cowl hoods, especially when they are not just for looks.

I thought about it but i would just be happy not to have a 5 inch stack sticking out of mine. The whole passenger side is just filth. Do they make aftermarket hoods for you year of rig guess i really never looked.

I can't find one anywhere. I think I will either have to custom Fab one or have one made. And no it wont be for looks. It will be functional. And ya I am glad you mentioned the screen. I wouldnt have thought about that one.

If your any good with fiberglass you could use you stock hood and make a functional scoop of any style

That is true. Or keep my stock hood in the shop put up and go to a junk yard and get a decent hood to make. Just in case I mess up or dont like it I can put my stock hood back on.

They also come Pre-made, all you have to do is mount it to your hood and seal it off.

I forgot about that. I have one of them books!!!!!

I'd actually been considering that lately; the damn intake on my Banks turbo might not wanna meet up with the scoop, though. I'd like to make it intake up higher, so it's not choking on dirt when I'm in the pasture. :dang:

Dont they make bends for the air intake tubes???? You can get cold intake tubes that might run to the openin of the or close to the openin of the hood. I have always ran a K&N air filter cause I can wash it if that happens and if it gets super dirty.
