help with ip on 7.3 idi turbo

i heard you can get more torque by turning a screw on back of ip if so there are two allen screws on back which one to turn how much and which way i have heard two turns dont know which screw

The allen screw you are hearing about is on the side of your pump you will want to pull the two bolts out of the timing cover plate and remove it. When you do that you will see a dowl pin, you want to turn the engine over till that pin is at 12 o'clock. Then move to the passenger side of your pump and you will see a triangular inspection cover with 2 8 mm bolts. remove that cover and there should be a round opening. Stick a 5/32 allen wrench or allen socket till you feel the head of the screw and turn that screw. You wont get more than 1 full turn out of it and pro;;y wont want to go too much more than 1/4 to 1/2 cuz it will eat your milage.:U:

The screw is usually adjusted in 1/6 increments or often referred to as a flat. I turned my screw up 2 flats, or 2/6 of a turn. It's a little more power, a little smoke but it didn't affect my mpg.

I hope you have a pyrometer, turning up the fuel will make things hotter even quicker. I dont have any problems empty, but loaded I have to watch it.

i know about that screw already have fuel turned up three flats and yes i have a pyro, i was readin somewhere on here theres one on back to give more torque, cant find but thanks for info

I heard about that once too. I couldn't find another screw either, so I assumed it was referring to the pump timing.

its pointless. i've tried with it and they do nothing to the performance. might hhurt MPGs now that i think about it..... but it changed my idle and that pretty much all it did.:igive:
