Won't fire when cranking

Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help with this. My 83 F250 just stopped when pulling out of the driveway. It acted like I just turned off the key. I have been reading some of the threads and have tried most of the suggestions. I was not getting any fuel out of the injector lines when cranking the engine. I am getting fuel from the line going to IJ pump. I had a used pump and put it on and I am now getting a small amount of fuel from the IJ lines. Just a dribble. My batteries show good when tested but they are 4 years old and I read to replace them. The engine seems to crank well enough for 10 to 20 second intervals. It will not fire with ether or wd 40. Can you tell me how much fuel should be coming out of the IJ line if only one is opened. I did replace rubber hose at the manual pump.
Thanks for any help

hmmm, i'll sleep on this..... but i know with the engine running there should be a good amount of fuel spewing when you crack the line loose...

my IDI does this sometimes ONLY on cold starts... it will fire up then die... crack about 15 seconds and it fires... i know if has a pin hole somewhere in one of the hard lines though...just havent fixed it :booo:

Thanks for the reply, I think I have this posted in the wrong place but, haven't found where it should go. It doesn't run or even fire. Just wondering if fuel should be coming out the iJ lines just crankinking engine if they are completely off the injectors.
Thanks

Wow, you should have alot o fuel coming from your lines. It sounds like there is a major blockage in the pump or its completely failed. My Advice is find another injection pump and test how that one pushes fuel to the one thats not pushing any at all.

i didnt reread your original post so im sorry if you covered this but, is the fuel filter new? it could be full of some nasty stuff and blocking your fuel flow....

It is a brand new filter. I think I am going to replace all the rubber lines and see if that helps. Thanks for the reply

thats a very good idea... those old rubber hoses can be a real pain in your arse.... check any hard lines and make sure they have got any hole rubbed in them....

mine did the same thing. my batterys checked good to but there was enough voltage drop while cranking to shut the fuel off. 4 year old batterys it wouldnt hurt to replace them anyway

thanks for the reply, bought 2 new batteries and replaced injection return lines, still not trying to fire.

does the pump have power to it? front plug on the pump should have power to it to run. wun a wire from + battery to front prong on pump. this should turn on pump. remove wire to shut down.
these trucks are full of stupid fusible links. i had one burn up for my fuel heater. truck just shut off.
