Heavy Duty Headlight Harness

Ive been looking into getting a upgraded headlight harness for my truck. I was just wondering if any of you guys have these harnesses and what you think of them?

Ive read on the internet that since they pull power from the battery you get brighter lights and since the headlight switch is no longer pulling the power they wont overheat and melt, which is suppose to be a common problem.

It says daytime running lites must be disabled to use this harness. Does anybody know why? and how would i disable my DRL? Also do any of you guys have HID lights? I would like to get a set in the near future and i was wondering if i would be able to use this harness with HID lights?

Well I did my own conversion a few times with upgraded wires and a relay...I found it makes a significant difference and helps mostly by taking the load off the switch itself.

LMC Truck Parts: Chevy Chevrolet Blazer S10 GMC Jimmy S15 Ford Bronco Ranger Pickup Pick Up Accessories/Catalogs sells a kit for about 29-39 bucks I think.

I put two relays on my truck- one for high, and one for low. I ordered "standard" 5 wire relays from JC Whitney for all Auto parts - Car, Truck, Jeep, Motorcycle & RV Parts for 8 bucks apiece. I wired it all myself 10 and 12 AWG wire, and just used the +supply current (to power the bulb)- to energize the relay. The only problem is that you have to use shielded female spade connectors to plug into the bulb. You have to turn all 3 tips inside the bulb 90*using needle nose pliers. You're going to be really surprised at how much brighter your lights are. To get the full effect, you'll need to do the 3G 130 amp alternator conversion. (rewire to internal regulated). That's another kick-ass conversion:U:
