Guys have significant trouble using the diesel ZF6 behind the IDI.

Not even sure where to begin with the gas version.

Personally, I very much liked the ZF5 when I drove IDI's. I plan to use one with a 6BT some day. Just shift the tcase to low range when you want a creeper gear.

I read about redrilling a 7.3 idi flywheel to fit a ps 7.3 pressure plate and disk. Thats fine. Just need to know for sure.

According to southbend clutches the zf6 used with my stock motor....5.r triton... Is the same input shaft as a zf5 used with the idi

I'll have to suggest you ask the guys over at oilburners. They know it better than I do.
