Default 1991 7.3 ZF5, in a 1992 7.3 E4OD

I picked up a 1992 7.3 IDI truck with a auto, engine is done. My old 1991 7.3 idi has a ZF5 Manual trans in it, body is shot. So going to make one nicer truck, with no rust. both trucks are the same wheel base.

what do I need to swap it over?

-Trans crossmember
-Pedal Assy, with clutch master/slave
-Driveshafts
-Transfer case

Wiring/ecu? Missing anything? I am thinking I will use the auto steering column. The one in my 1991 has a broken tilt.

You will also need the center section of the floor, it unbolts so you wont have to cut anything. I would also find a reinforcement plate for the clutch master cylinder. The firewall tends to tear after a while and will make you think the hydraulics have gone out.

Thanks, I am well into the swap. I need 1992 Pedal Assy, new clutch master, 1992 trans wiring. Had to use the 1992 engine harness as well.

still need to hunt down a steer column cover. The pedal assy has the clutch reinforcement plate/mounting built into it.

It was harder finding the pedal assy then swapping over the drive-line. picked up a ECU for the manual trans, no clue if i really need it. (cheap $10. got it if I need it.)

going to finish the truck up tomorrow.

What kind of adapter plates did you need.

I didn't use any adapter plates. Bent the hell out of my engine hoist and leveler.
