won't start
 

Hii Guys, I have a 1986 ford f250 with a 6.9 IH diesel. While on a trip to Florida to I lost every key I had. It took the local locksmith 14 days to get the old key lock cylinder removed and replaced. When I reassembled the steering wheel assembly I found the steering column had failed, replaced it and headed for a friends home just before dark. I turned on the headlights halfway there and lost all electrical power and the engine died. I am trying to locate the ignitions fusible link, so far without any success. I have checked all the fuses in spite of their not having anything to do with the ignition and my only thought besides there being a short in my head lights now is there is a fusible link that's become fried.

Does anyone know exactly where my ignitions fusible link is? Or the coloring of its wires? Or any suggestions as to how I can trouble shoot my baby?

Odd I know but this Ford, model, and engine combination is a long term dream of mine and I hope to get her back on the road soon. I'm retired on SOC and didn't plan the period of my life well, if at all and if not for my daughter I would have never been able to buy her as it is. Please think my problem over and let me know what you feel is the problem.
