What's the easiest way to bleed the fuel system

I need to bleed my fuel system what's the easiest way to do it

start the truck up and crack open 1-3 injection lines and leave it run until theres no air coming out and only steady (pulsating) streams of fuel. super easy only takes a few minutes

Ok but I have to bleed the air out to get it started I just changed out all the injector so I have to bleed the system

Fill your fuel filter with ATF .. Crack 4 injector lines .. cranktill you see fuel at any one of them and then close that one .. do this tiits running ( Plant your foot to the floor and the IP will move more fuel ) ... :c:

Curiososty here. Why would you fill fuel filter with ATF?

4x4manonbroke 11-10-2014 09:00 PM

Its thickerr and will lubricate the Ip to keep the vanes in the pump happy with out being full of fuel .. and it cleans out the Ip and Injectors ... :tu:.. Lubrication is key

Most people that recommend ATF are "old timers" modern ATF is nothing like it used to be. The new ATF compaction yes is still in oil yes still A detergent but it is not designed to burn and will leave an ashy substance left behind in the end. ATF also has very strong friction materials in it designed for the cluch paks in automatic transmissions. With fuel pumps and systems having such tight tolerances it is strongly not recommend

Just my $0.02

Just out of curiosity are you saying new atf doesn't burn? Cause I've had life experiences that it burns real good. Like in a 1972 Cutlass trans burning.

Just-Another-Dieselguy 11-11-2014 10:29 AM

I am not saying it does not burn
Yes it will burn, but it does not burn well, it is not designed to burn, use 2 stoke oil, it is designed to be burned

2 stroke oil is better on the seals and burns pretty well
