1994 7.3 turbo IDI - too much undercarriage rust to justify purchase
2 Attachment(s)
Looking at a 1994 7.3 turbo IDI CC 4x4 - exterior and interior well maintained, stock engine/transmission/exhaust - all good. However, the truck appears to have been sitting outside in central texas and not driven much, and the undercarriage has more rust than I am used to seeing on a vehicle of this vintage. Even the shocks have rust patina. See pics below.
Being a native New Mexican, I don't have much experience with rust. Is this expected and easily dealt with using a disc grinder, elbow grease, and a rust converter/retardant product, or should I run away from this deal? Thanks in advance! |
That doesn't look too bad, a little worse than mine but nowhere near as bad as my sisters 91 F-250. As long as it's not bubbling anywhere major, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from the pics you have shown.

Come to New York and look at any vehicle. You'll go running back to that one
