There is a valve on the injection pump that supplies vacuum to a vacuum modulator on the side of the trans. You should have the c6 if memory serves me right, a new valve for the transmission is roughly $20 from orielly. Find it on the side of the trans. It's the only part that has a vacuum line to it. Since this is a diesel, it does not create vacuum, it is run from the injector pump on the side of it. Could be time for a new modulator, or the valve on the pump. Both are cheap enough parts. Hook up a hand held vacuum pump to the nipple, should be 13" at idle, around 5" at WOT. If you are two ways on buying the pump, just remember you can use it to bleed breaks and a couple hand fulls of other tasks. :w2:

I tried looking up the problems online an it sounded to me like it was the vrv which is a dealer item since i cant find one at local auto part stores.the vrv is what im leaning towards cause when i bought the truck the guy said it wood only shift manualy and then when i went to pick the truck up he sed he fixed it an he had messed with the vrv so im guessing its bad.im gonna try an get one from the salvage yard an see if tht fixes everything

I replaced the vrv today it seemed to shift at lower rpms i think i need to adjust it a bit but other then that i think it fixed it.i paid 10 dollars for a used one.was that too much?
