I just got done searching and haven't found anything for my specific question. I'm testing/replacing glow plugs on my truck and have run into a small road block... The turbo. Is there a trick to replacing them without removing the turbo? I'd really rather not if i don't have to.

 

deep 1/4 ratchet, and go nuts, no need to remove the turbo if you're talking about the glow plug on the passenger side for cylinder 5

 

That back plug under the turbo is a real pain to reach, but can be done without removing the turbo. Once I got it loose, I slipped a piece of rubber hose over the end of it that fit really snug and spun it out the rest of the way by spinning the hose. I installed the new one the same way.

 

Great ideas. now where exactly is this plate next to the harmonic balancer everyone keeps talking about?
