1984 F250 7.3l non turbo..1st time buyer

I've got an uncle thats selling a 1984 Ford f250 7.3l non turbo w/ 64k original miles...my question is this a good truck for the price? he's selling it for 5k...whats normal goes wrong with these 7.3 non turbos? Anything i need to look for before purchasing? He bought it off an old farmer who only drove it on his land...Just need advice...is it a fair price and a good ol truck..thanks

I posted a thread entitled "before buying an idi , please read" read it and you will know EVERYTHING to look for

If it's a 7.3 it's not stock. My bet is on it being a 6.9. Is it 2wd or 4x4? And what condition is the body in, where are you located? You're leaving alot of questions unanswered.

its a 4x4 and the body is in excellent shape. no rust or dents...interiors spotless with just a crack in the dash...and he's said its a 7.3 so how would i be able to check for sure what it is? btw I'm in northeast KS...

on the passenger side valve cover will be engine displacement and other info. If it is not worn out or painted over.

Check under the engine for leaks

Yes, the most expensive one I've seen out here is a cclb f350 with 90k on it, pristine condition for 3,500 :w2:
