Well I had the transmission rebuilt not two long ago. and the fluid was red but it did smell burnt and there was this thick grey sludge in the pan. I did do a filter and fluid change but did not get the right amount of fluid so I have not road tested it yet

Had a shifting issue on my bronco with a c6 it had was right after a rebuild a did, turned out to be the modulator valve on the back, replaced it and was smooth sailing till I parked it into my garage, that was 2 years ago, It is now awaiting the transformation into a dirt toy, going to drop a powerstroke into her and redo everything I just did LOL , may get another bronco to restore real nice and the the driveline into her.

Cool I have a c6 modulator from a c6 mustang so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

On your rear diff, is the cover on the back side or is it facing the front of the vehicle?

I would go to the auto parts store and pick up a modulator for your transmission, and depending on where you live will tell us which one you need, Since I live in the Valley of Arizona I would buy the green striped modulator since I don't need a altitude compensation. Will run about $30 for the part.
