Exhaust question

Quick question, I was wanting to put stacks on my '93 7.3IDI and was wondering should I pull from the Y pipe into a 4" or what if I ran true duals into their own stack? Could running duals cause problems, and if not what size should I run with duals?
Thanks y'all haven't let me down yet. :jump::rocking:

The problem with running true duals is the front fuel tank.
The tank is right in the way, and not enough room to go over or between the transmission and the tank.

You will probably also find that there is not enough room to split the exhaust under the bed and get to the drivers side of the bed.

Ah, thank you, never got under to look yet and plan it out, just saw some pieces on CL and was brainstorming in my head if options. So is 4" off the Y pipe big enough, or too big? I've always wondered how much my motor is being restricted, especially when an '03 has bigger exhaust stock.

I would run the truck off the rear tank if equipped, remove the front. straight pipe wont cause engine harm but will sound like crap. Recommend 3" pipe. you can make it sound a little better by modifying the dynamic timing of the pump. tune to sound like what you want. check all the rpm's to make sure you wont get annoyed with it.

Thanks but I think I'll run off of the "Y" and run a single back to another "Y" pipe like most stacks. I use both tanks too much to limit myself to one. Thanks though for the knowlage and insight.

Running off the Y in the front will be the easiest way. You can run duals to their own stacks if you run the pipes on the outside of the frame. I had an 1985 F-250 4x4 with a 460 that I did that on.
