Coolant questions

May sound like a dumb or 'rookie' query, but what the hell is SCA charged coolant ?

My grateful thanks for great answer and straightforward manner:tu:

yes and by not using a SCA pre-charged coolant you will loose your engine real soon due to cavitation of the cylinder walls .... :td: ..... like pitting or like its been hit by a ball peen hammer ...

cavitation is caused by several things .... such as low coolant pressure or poor flow, and the effect is caused by the piston coming up and "expanding the cylinder" and then the ignition event causes like a ripple and then the down stroke causes the coolant to pop against the cylinder walls ... hence the pitting .... which is referred to as cavitation and it will eventually go through the already thin walls of the cylinders

7.3 idi's are especially prone to cavitation from what I've heard

Yes, the cyinders are thin and "flexable" which causes this phenominom , I have seen on youube how they explain this , will look to link it here somethime

@ 2:00 mark the small bubbles that are seen , is due to the blade cutting through the water, the sudden expansion nd contraction of the watr by the blade = cavitatio and it can and will eat through plate steel and cylinder walls too.... thought you all would enjopy this viedo :tu:

a viedo of cavitation, and pics of the damage....
