Default F250 7.3 idi

Hey guys. So my question is this. How can I get the smoothest ride out of my 250? The truck has a 3-4 inch lift on it now and it feels like there's absolutely no suspension on it. I'm about to break my neck in it. I'm looking into going back to stick but is it worth it? I've never ridden in a stock 7.3 f250 so I don't know how good if a ride it is. I've had peor tell me that maybe my shocks are stiff or something and I'm just relying on my leaf springs. I've also had people tell me I have an "add a leaf". I'm not that good with suspension so I have no idea. I'm wanting to go back to the stock height and wheels and what not. So if someone had a stock idi f250, could you tell me how good of a ride it is?

well depends on what kind of lift you have, the cheaper the lift the crappier they ride. In any case though a truck is a truck and they dont ride all that smooth anyways, but there is alot that plays into ride quality. 1. How good is the lift suspension does it allow the springs to move like they should? 2. What kind of shocks do you have. 3. What kind of tires, I never been in a truck with e rated 35s that rode worth a damn.

my F250 has 35's and e rated tires and rides great ... I have Pro comp rs3000 shocks up front ... these diesel trucks dont ride well with gas charged shocks ... the pro comp shock is a hydraulic shock .... it just has oil .... and i llike the way mine rides .... I also have these shocks on my dodge with the 5.9 cummins and it rides real nice too ..... I do have the add a leaf and such on the ford .... it rode like crap with the monroe shocks and with out the add a leaf .... for all its worth I have Cooper AT3'S and love the way they ride and handle ... 315/75/16's .... just looked again .. theyre 8 ply d rated.. ride good with weight in the bed....

I have an AAL on the front of my 93, Monroe HD shocks and 8 ply 285's and I think my truck rides pretty well. I replaced all the front end bushings with Energy Suspension polyurethane parts as well. My 86 on the other hand has an AAL, worn shocks and the bushings are trashed riding on stock 10 plys and it rides like crap. If everything is in good shape, it shouldn't be that bad, but it will never be a Cadillac.
