Glow plug controller clicking... and harness
 

I have a 92 7.3 that I can visually see broken wires on several of the glow plugs. I plan on replacing all 8 of the glow plugs at once and thinking about just making a new wire harness from the controller to the GP's.
My question is this ...

Do I need to replace the controller to make this clicking go away? It clicks on and off for feels like 10 secs.

And do you guys see any problem with me building a new wire harness for the GP's ??

home made harness should work fine as long as all the connections are solderd ( sorry cant spell) togather so they stay good. the controller will click on and off after the glow plugs warm up a bit until they reach a certian temp while the engine is running.
