Default Question for the Cummins folks..

I had heard about the issues the Cummins engines had during I want to say somewhere between 2000-2004 the engines were having issues with head gaskets...working where I do, I had heard that there were some warped heads or something to that affect which caused the issue..(I'm told)..anyway..does the newer 6.7 2007.5 and up avoid those issues or do you guys go ahead and use studs anyway??? thanks guys.. trying to learn the ways of Diesel...

To my knowledge, Cummins heads and head gaskets have never been a problem. In any of the years, or engine configurations.

Ive done a couple head gaskets on the 5.9s and the 6.7s, it really isnt a big problem at all, there are many other issues that come before that. the 5.9 is definitely a great motor, and so is the 6.7 with all the egr and emissions deleted.
