Has anyone herd about a 7.3 cummins coming out in the near future for Dodge

I ran into a guy that said dodge was going to put a 7.3 cumminsin the Rams in the near future, has anyone herd this ? :humm:

white93 08-18-2011 06:18 PM

Probably not true. The 7.3 was discontinued because it couldn't meet emissions.

Never mind I thought you meant a 7.3 powerstroke. Who knows whats going to happen with cummins and ram. I read on other forums about a iveco engine in them but who knows.

Ive heard dodge is loosing their contract w cummins and ford is gonna start using them?:scare2:

Gamecocks 08-30-2011 11:47 PM

This subject has come up three or four times since ive been here, hang around long enough and you'll see it again!

Rsoule2 09-01-2011 06:30 AM

I doubt Ford would go start putting Cummins in there trucks especailly after they just started putting there new 6.7L in the powerstrokes this year, but it would be a nice thing to see a cummins in a Ford stock from factory.

themoperman68 09-03-2011 08:08 AM

I was not to be asking anything about ford . As I and most people know on here ford dose not own cummins. I just heard from someone that cummins was going to build a inline 7.3 motor. But I don't see that happen I told them that they were full of it . So leave the FORD B.S. out of this post

chtcoaltrainco.360 09-07-2011 11:25 AM

okay ive heard that cummins is going to start building there own trucks to put the cummins in......... has anybody heard about this? :humm:

Billy D 09-07-2011 12:03 PM

I like my :crack: Cummins drill

Hummin Cummins 09-08-2011 07:52 AM

If Cummins did come out with a 7.3L engine it would be new from the ground up. I don't see it happening. But it would be nice!!

Sluggo 09-08-2011 10:26 AM

This sounds just like the rumor four or five years ago about cat making a road engine for chevrolet and now cat does not make any road engines even for big trucks. The problem being emmisions now. EPA even going after off road engines. New machinery has got the DEF now. Where I work is in a mad dash to get newer equipment without the DEF before they are unavailable or unafordable

Sorry bud but the engine is built by IH ,it is a copy of maxforce engines :w2:

Captain Call 10-09-2011 06:17 PM

No, read a little better there. It's a cat engine. C13 Cat engine is Cat, not a corn binder.

tiremann9669 10-09-2011 07:05 PM

I heard Cimmins bought Chevrolet and they're gonna put a quad turbo 5.9 in the Corvette. :w2:

RanchhandTCR 10-18-2011 11:58 PM

Ha right tree huggers would be B****** to EPA in a heartbeat. plus that be one big ass cylinder.

tcarico 11-20-2011 08:58 PM

ive heard of a stroker crank in a 6.7 cummins to make a 7.3

Just heard, not found anything on web about it, but cat is using cummins' emissions control setup to make epa compliant. Anyone?

breck1392 03-23-2012 01:11 PM

I have decided to start a completely new rumor one that would be really awesome!!!! her it is I am super good friends with the CEO of dodge and he was telling me that they are going to start offering a second option package for the diesel engines. They have started negotiations with Detroit to bring back the 6V72 supercharged 2 stroke diesel engine exclusively for the dodge ram 3500.

cummins_guy 03-30-2012 11:51 AM

6V92

But I heard they are going to put this in the new 1500 series

EasternAggie 03-30-2012 03:44 PM

I'D BUY IT!!!! :rocking:
