X2 used por 15 quite a few times still no rust after 5 years so far

the video of stacy david from the show truck used it on ted nuggets bronco i googled it and that is what came up

Have not had as good a luck as turbostang with the por15. And that was after sand blasting most of the heavy rust, degreasing and applying the prep they recommended. Still had rust come through and the material/paint peal. What sucks is nothing else seems to want to take a bite on the por 15 that is still there even after prepping, it just peals off. At some point the bed is coming back off and I will sand blast and go back to rustoleum products that are still keeping the rust at bay on my 79 power wagon that hasn't moved out of the weeds in 6 yrs. That was with their red primer. I had the same luck with the eastwood products as the por15. Spent alot of money and time for nothing.

honestly i cannot testify for the other stuff, but POR 15, at least in our shop is amazing, believe it or not the best way we have found to use it is to do minimal prep work, if any at all, it dries like a powder coat, prohibits any oxygen from reaching the mettal, and is super sttrong, i use it on all my bumpers and anything else that needs rust prevention, do not put on a second coat after it dries without roughing it up really good, the rougher the surfice the better it sticks, i have found that also if applied to any super well prepped/ not rough enough surfices it will peel off also. just my experience with the stuff. we wanted to start a web site called por-15it.com, after our blazer build, never leave someone alone with the stuff, when you come back the whole interior will be por-15....

I'm glad somebody has had good luck with it. I followed their instructions to the letter getting a gallon of the marine clean and a gallon of the metal ready prep thinking that I would never again have to deal with it. I sand blasted and brushed to get rid of the worst of the loose rust and so that any areas with out rust would be rough and have better adhesion. If I hadn't gone to through the extra steps or it just came off of the painted areas I could understand but my rusted areas came through. I hear you on the last comment. If you decide to use it make sure every inch of skin is covered. This stuff sticks to skin like I wish it stuck to my frame. Will not come off without removing the skin once it is dry and has a way of finding any open area left no matter how careful you seem to be.

the worst is if you get it in your hair!!! you can see the pics in my bumper build thread of what it looks like, i even did my sky jacker leaf springs and its been almost a year without any peeling or flaking, just make sure there is no dirt or grease, otherwise i just brush it over the metal without any prep work and so far i have had no issues at all, except the areas i put i second coat on, second coat is peeling but the original coat stays, i am going to just orbital sand the areas i did two coats, apply a new coat and it should be all good.

I hear you on the hair thing. May as well just get out the scissors. Go figure, you just brush it on and it stays, I degrease and put on their specially metal prep which is supposed to create a superior bond and it comes off. I will say I used it on a pair of new brake calipers after degreasing and applying the metal prep and after a year they still look good. No rust and I got it to stick, very rusty frame and it comes off. I even did my axles, knuckles and all when I had them apart to do ball joints and bearings and they look like they did before I started. Very frustrating. I have bought at least three of their six pack of little cans thinking hey I must have done something wrong and try it again with the same results. Like I said I have wasted alot of time and money without the results I wanted. I like to give products a decent chance but with my experiences they can shove there product where the sun doesn't shine.

on my rear tube bumper, after close inspection it is staring to show through but i need to re paint it anyways so its just a reason for me to pull it off and re do it. i just painted the front, ill be putting on a coat of clear after i get my companies name stencil done and painted on the front in white, i am hoping that the clear will protect it fron the uv light fade that happens to por 15.
