Kinda neat thought i would share it with yall
so i have a good friend who is a salesman at a dodge/ford dealer here in town. One night we were talking and he was bragging up the new ford 6.7 and how they just flashed it with the new updates and how "fast and nasty it was". so i told him run it with a new 6.7 dodge and see what it does. Well tonight he stopped by and said " Skinny i stand corrected that 6.7 dodge is pretty good , we ran a 6.7 ford F-350 and a dodge Mega cab 3500 side by side and they were dead even" . for them claiming the power of them new fords i was really surprised because i thought for sure it would walk the dodge in the long run. i mean the numbers for that ford are insane, but he swore that the ford was better and now his story is changed. just thought us dodge boys would like to hear that. im not trying to start a ford vs dodge war because once again they were "even" in this race but im pretty impressed with it.

Cool, and the frontend of that Ford is awful lookin, way too much chrome :c:

One of the diesel magazines dyno'ed a new Ford with updates and rear wheel power was around half the horsepower they're claiming.
I remember seeing the dyno chart and it didn't even break 250hp. I'll see if I can find it and either add a link or take a picture of it and post it. Kris |
keep us updated! :pca1: :c:

any physical evidence of this run? I'm a ford hater to the bone, but I'm having trouble believing this one, everything I've heard and seen says the 6.7 ford is the new dmax.

Ok, I've been searching Diesel Power Magazine website this morning to no avail. I assume that the January issue must not be online yet. They did a dyno test of this truck and at the rear wheels it is producing 347 HP and 694 TQ. This is after the Ford flash of the ecm to up the power level to the 400 HP and 800 TQ. On a side note, they were testing a plug in tuner, it was an MP-8, advertised 50 HP. It bumped the HP to 394 which is up 47, and TQ to 749, up 55. It makes sense the truck loses power through the transmission and differentials; its normal on everyone's truck. When the article shows up online, I will post a link.

Any more thoughts?
:w2: |
they're all rated at flywheel hp because it looks best

They dyno is pointless anyway.... Un less there compairing back to back both trucks.. @ the same temp, alt, humity ext. And even then it's just a tool. U can make it read a peak of only 10 hp and adjust the gains to ur benifit... The truck v.s. Truck would be the most accu. I'd like to see them run the 2 back to back on the same dyno! Then we would get some solid info. I like them both! Can't afford either one though lol!
