is the 2nd gen 12V collectable?
well this has probably been done before but here we go anyway.
who thinks the 2nd gen 12V will be collectable some day? they have a decent interior, nice lines, made for a pretty short time and the beloved P-pump. part of me wants to get rid of it and get something with a crew cab but part of me wonders if i'm driving the next '69 charger and i should hang on to it. thoughts??? |
Hold on to it they will be the best for a long time. It is easy when they oulast everything though.

all 7 people that voted voted yes. interesting. i started thinking about this because i realized my truck is 11 this year. that's over half-way to being eligible as a collector. hard to believe.

most older trucks are collectible
my favorite is the 68-72 chevy's/gmc's but the old diesel trucks usually are not collectible. on the other hand. alot of the older diesel where junk! gm's famous gas 350's converted to diesel. but the ol' gm's with the 6.2 diesel's still hold on to a good price! the cummins i believe obviously to be a good diesel engine. i think they will keep their value up |

mine is four years away from collector status. Don't know if I should be :U: or :booo: about it...but the 1st gen diesels will be more sought after. This body style was only made with a diesel for five years. the body style of yours was made for nine years. 4.5 yrs with each engine.
