6.7 head swap with 03 common rail
Ok correct me if I'm wrong but I was told that a 6.7 head is a direct bolt on to 5.9 common rail? And I was also
Told there would be an increase in hp and if so are they any obstacles to overcome electrically? |

im sure it will bolt on right one...im pretty sure the 6.7 is just a bored and stroked 5.9 so...
I would highly doubt your gonna have any seat of the pants increase in power by doing the swap... |
possibly better airflow, bout the most i can guess... havent had a chance to look under the hood of the 6.7 really but from the aftermarket intake horns they're wider which to me means more flow to accomodate a better flowing head... so if anything that's where you'd see the increase from not b/c its a 6.7 head instead of the 5.9

so more than likely its not worth the time and effort to do the swap? he said he can get me one for 150, and i was hoping maybe it would solve my tapping problem
|
tapping problem??? i had one that came into my shop with a tapping problem it turned out to be a bent push rod
|
150 bucks for a head? go for it man (as long as it isn't cracked) it can only compliment any other mods you do to the truck
