Clean Diesel: For College Speech Class

ALright guys, I need some info/insight on a topic for one of my speech classes. I'm centering my speech on Clean Diesel: how it benefits us, the consumer; how much better it is than traditional gas engines, hp, emmissions, torque, and anything that relates to the overall performance of Clean Diesel technology here in the U.S. I know it's not what our threads are usually about, but seeing how this is one of the best diesel tech forums on the net:yeah:, I figured it'd be good to start out here. If yall got any info, please post it or send it to me at eaguilar_15@yahoo.com. Thanks guys, 'preciate the help.

Funny I should see this... I just did the same thing for my speach class last year. And seeing your topic I would have to guess you are in a diesel tech program too.... Small world!
I have tons of info! I got on google and went crazy! Mine was geared more toward just diesel vs. gasoline though. I don't remember how many minutes I was supposed to do.. But, I had to cut it pretty short! Guess I had way more than I realized... Our professor was pretty cool about it and still gave me a good grade!
If you have any specific areas you want info for, I might have some in that area. I don't want to over load you with stuff you didn't plan on using, so just ask away if you like (Chances are you might have already found much more than you can use off the internet anyway.... You know to only use 'wikipedia' for a research starting point as it is written by anyone and may not be accurate?)

You might want to do a search or look through this Latest Automotive News - Future Diesels & Automotives - Diesel Bombers I know there has to be some info in there:U: Good Luck to ya :c:

Here what I found when I typed in clean diesels https://www.dieselbombers.com/search...earchid=539369

focus on the modification of the fuels and aftertreatments... this is how they're really "cleaning up diesel" aside from common rail systems that atomize fuel better, and electronic engines on top of VGT technology

What do you want to know? Go on line to dieselnet.com and dieselprogress.com and you will find real world numbers, real descriptions and real advice. I'm not saying we can't help but the guys over there know the science behind it.

You could do an entire talk on SCR.

You may also want to bring up that under Tier 3 (Jan 2010) all new diesels - OTR, cars and pickups will have fewer emissions than their gas counterparts. I'm serious, fewer overall emissions as well as particulate and everything else that is such a big deal. I've got a chart from my provincial government that shows how much less they pollute now and it only gets better.

Cheers

Alright guys, thanks. I'll try to use all yalls input, it really helps. Few of my friends are really against diesels and everythin that deals with it, but I'm hopin that this'll open their eyes to just how much better diesel vehicles are than gasers:booo:. Again, thanks guys, yall kick ass! Anythin else yall might have give a holler.

Tell you "friends" that as of January 2010 all Tier 3 diesels will be equal to PZEV which is a small displacement gas motor found in some cars for urban areas of California and such. From that point forward black tail pipes will be found only on gassers.

Sure there may still be efficiency bugs to work out but the point I'm making is that we win, period.
