Anyone running a fifth wheel with a lifted truck?
 

I am looking at two trucks to purchase. One is an 06 Mega cab 4x4 with a 4" lift and 35" tires. The other one is an 06 Quad cab one ton 4x4 with stock lift. The one ton already sits 3 inches higher in the bed then my 04 Ford that I used to pull the fifth wheeler.(it was a level angle) The lifted truck sits 6 inches higher then the ford.

I am wondering if I'm going to run into problems with the Mega Cab and the 4" lift. What can I do with the fifth wheeler. The axles are not flipped yet. I don't want it to be looking like a sled going down the road.

Are anyone of you guys running a lift on the trucks and pull a 5th wheeler, or is it better to have a stock truck height?

For pulling it's always safer to have a stock height truck. I know lot's a guys do it and will swear they have never had any problems with a lift and over sized tires. But the fact is that when you trailer a 5th Wheel, the higher the hitch is off the ground the more top heavy it is when your stoppin and turning. In a turn the 5th wheel is actually pushing the top of your truck, sort of pushing it into a roll so to speak. The higher the hitch point the more leverage that trailer has.

So can you trailer with a lift and tires, yes. Is it safe, questionable. All a matter of personal opinion. Good luck to ya on your purchase either way.

i dont have a lifted mega but i have a auto slider

I was running a 5" lift with 37" tires pulling a goose neck, the main thing is to get larger rims keeps the side to side sway down when pulling, if you have too much sidewall the truck will sway, and it gives you a very sketchy feeling, also had airbags to help in the back.
And a buddy of mine lifted his inclosed trailer to match the truck, but it looked pretty dumb
