2 Wheel Drive 3500 ifs ball joints

Just wanted to see how of the 2 wheel drive bunch with IFS front suspension knew that they now can get the lower ball joints instead of the complete lower control arm, thats a big savings, will post the part number for those that want it later to today, time to change that bad boy now.

Yeah you can get them all. You have to use an airchisel to knock the rivets out of the control arms. Were did you get yours and how much was it.

I got one at napa part # NCP2601548 $60
napa was cheaper than autozone thay want $74 for the TRW one part # 104277
napa had it in stock and autozone had to order it

since i dont have a air chiesel, i drilled a pilot hole in the rivits and then heated them and they came out fairly easy with a 7lb sledge hammer, took about 2 and half hours to change the drivers side

I am just glade that you can get just the ball joint now, when i change the other side last year i had to change the whole lower control arm, no one around here could get a ball joint.

got mine at napa too, $60 sounds right.

i try to use napa, since they are the only parts house in town.....lol
or autozone since they are on the way home from work, then i guess it cummins parts for the engine

might have wished i had changed the upper ball joints to, but since i didnt i will see how many more miles i can rack up on them, lowers lasted 381K, drivers side anyway.

just finished the upper ball joints last night, they are way easier to replace than the lowers, and hopfully they will last longer or as long as the factory ones.
