New Truck....SRW VS DRW....thoughts?

Hey guys, It's been a while since I've logged on. My last diesel ('10 F250 6.4) went away when we had our second child. I have been driving a GM 2500 Crew Cab, with the 6.0L gasseer. Not bad but it's pushing 130k, and I know It will be replaced soon.

So me. I am a jack of all trades, I flip houses, cars, general construction, as well as some bigger municipal jobs.

My construction trailer is a 7k GVWR enclosed 7'x18'
Car hauler is a 18 ft deck with 2ft dove tail 7k

The 6.0L gasser hauls the flat deck pretty well, the Enclosed was a bit tougher since the surface area.

I currently have a 6'4" bed....which is nice but the times I run out of space is getting on my nerves....the other day I had 70 sheets of ply in the back and had to strap it...I'd rather close my tailgate. So I figure ok, I NEED the crew cab. What's another 18" fine its a bus. But I want a 3500 vs 2500 ( I'd prefer the leaf srpings vs coils )...but most 3500 are DRW, and I have to admit I think the CCLB is Very long and the DRW adds some depth.

Me and the family are also planning on a 6 week long cross country trip next summer. We are going to buy a travel camper. Yes I should know what we are going to buy first, but we have no idea. It will be big enough to sleep us 4 comfy, and will be more what we find on the used market vs our ideal purchase.

I plan on going with the 6.7, and a 6 speed (I love driving stick, and i have a feeling even dodge will discontinue at some point).

I do work with my truck as well as my DD. I live in a very urban area but what's another 2' width.

So my question. is the DRW really that good? I live in snow prone area, and Never off road (more than some logging roads etc). But is towing that much more of an imporvement? I did realize the sway with a big enclosed trailer, and thinking it may be nice on a 6 week trip towing to have an additional 2 wheels, plus they look better IMO.

So please thoughts, ideas, anything you've got...
