Natural Gas for Cummins?

Is this even possible? I just read an article stating that this is the way trucks are starting to go. How? No lube for the motor. Am I missin' something here?:s:

I've heard of testing using refrigerated NG in big rigs. Technology is available to keep the NG refrigerated and compressed for longer periods, allowing more miles per fill up. NG has more energy per unit I believe.

As for no oil, that just can't be.

But think about it. I can see what you're talking about for compressed NG for the rigs like yours and mine, but what about for the semi rigs? They'd have to find away to use Liquid NG for the longer distances.... at that point the NG would have to "assist" the diesel engine so that oil can still lube. I guess thats possible.

I''m going to look deeper into this. I'm going to find a way to add NG to my pickup so that I can get rid of the fairy prius and use my truck as my commuter. Oh how would it be??:tyty:

I looked quickly the other day, and one article was saying diesel would only be 5% of the fuel used. Used for pilot ignition of the LNG. It will be interesting to follow the progress of this. Sounds like it's already available in some units!
