Simple questions to answer for a newbie

Hey Guys and Girls,

I am picking up my new Diesel Tomorrow morning and am new to owning one since all of the emissions systems. in fact the only diesel I've ever tinkered with is an old deere.

I am picking up a
2013 3500 st crew cab shortbox 4x4
It has the Aisin and 3.42 rear end

I have a few simple questions I am hoping you all will give me your input on.
1. Is there anything I need to keep an eye on besides the oil during break in?
2. When should the first oil change be made, to keep everything on the up and up?
3. Is there anything I should do ASAP that will not effect my warranty? (not looking for more power, just any glaring things that are effecting reliability)
4. If i am to need any wrenching, is there any dealer here in South east Michigan you would recommend over others?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to contributing as I learn more and more about my truck :c:

they have been having problems with the DEF system in those...no idea if they have worked it out yet...

keep an eye on DEF levels and do your first oil change at 3k miles...after that change every 7500 with dino oil or every 15000 with a quality synthetic oil. (Like AMSOIL) make sure the oil is 15w-40 with the API CJ-4 rating since you have an emissions controlled diesel you are getting... API CI-4 can be used in pre 07 diesels without emission controls.

use OEM oil filters (which you can now get at your local wally world for fairly cheap) or fleetguard, donaldson, or another high quality filter (NO FRAM FILTERS!)

I would do your oil change at the interval the dealership tells you to.
And I wouldn't go synth. until after the break in period is over.
Got any pics of your rig?
I wouldn't do any mods until the warranty is up.
Will your driving be in town, freeway or both?
If you do a lot of in town driving, I would recommend you hit the freeway like every other week so the dpf can do a dpf regen to keep it clean.
