I have a set of mickey thompson 33x12.50r17 on a set of mickey thompson 17x9 classic locks on my wifes's 07 tacoma double cab long bed with a 6" lift and they have been on for alomst 2 years and they have close to 41,000 miles and they are at about 50-55% tread left. I have them rotated/ balanced every 5000-6000 miles. They work great in snow , mud, wet and are really quiet, not silent . The ride is smooth and they are all aired to 29psi stock pressure and are wearing evenly. Haven`t had a single problem yet! Shot I got a set of MY 38x15.50r18 claws on my f250 and the have over 31,000 miles and have had no problems and they are at 45-50% tread lift left. I think I paid $225 per tire. I had good luck with the toyo MT's on my f250 before the claws they were 37x13.50r17 on a set of 17x10 centerline cooler wheels got over 56,000 on those when I took them off and they still had a good 5000 plus miles left on them.

ok thanks. I was thinking about bfg all terrains havent heard a lot about em though. dont really need mud tires.

The mickey thompson ATZ's are a AT tire. I has a set of the bfg AT tires back on my 1996 dodge 2500 w/12v 5.9L cummins and I didn`t get good milage out of them at all. I have never bought another bfg set of tires since. Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels

Off road it handled good but I don't wheel so the most off road I get is 6-12" of snow or getting to a camping spot. I could honestly run a highway tire and be fine. This summer I am going to lift and run 35" cooper stt |
I dont plan on being off road a whole lot but being a diesel its heavier and ive been researching between the kelly tsr and cooper st both have shown good reviews. prices range about the same. anybody ran tsrs?
|
i have Micheln LTX on my i love them night day with handling from have the coopers on it well the was much wong with other then someone killed the side walls on them,i've had the michelin's on it now for bit and the the side walls are still in tract but the price tag is little high but i think there worth it !

On the tire subject I don't get near the miles out of my Toyo MT tires that I use to I'm lucky to get 25000 out of um now where when I use to get 45000

My brother had Cooper st on his 09 Duramax. I know he is good in keeping his tire properly checked and maintained, and he was not happy about treadlife of Cooper.

I've been buying General brand tires for all my vehicles recently and they are great! Look at the reviews online for different tires (I usually use tirerack.com), and you will see that they are one of the cheaper tires (not the cheapest though) and they rank right up there with Michelan, while being half the price.
For trucks I use the General Grabber AT/2, which is an all-terrain type tire. I've had them on my 1989 Chevy S10 4x4 for 4 years, and even in bad snow I generally leave it in 2wd because I can! I just bought 6 of these for my 1999 Cummins 3500 in 235/85R16 for $1000 out the door at National Tire and Battery, which is a great deal considering other prices I got ranged from $1200 to $1600... |
I actually runnin BFG Ruff Terrains. I like em
