5.9L Diesel Filter Water/Sediment Drain

2 Attachment(s)
Drain the water and sediment from the separator each time the fuel tank is filled.

Shut off the engine. Manually open the drain valve until clear fuel is visible. Top Load Filter Type (1)
Pull up on the drain valve lever until fluid drains out of the drain tube. If nothing comes out of the drain tube, lift the lever several times to break the vacuum seal.
Spin-on Filter Type (2)
Lift up on the drain valve until fluid drains out of the drain tube. When finished, make sure that the valve closes.

NOTE: Some of the early 1st generation trucks have a screw valve without the WIF sensor. For these filters, you must unscrew the valve until the drain opens.

I guess the tube could be clogged.

so when i flip that valve to the left(drivers side)water should ruyn out and then clean fuel

i would rarely if ever get water, and when i did it was maybe a 1/4 of a teaspoon....

Might try and take the canister off and shoot some air through it. As for water im sure some has been in there but i dont think its ever enough to notice.

Sometimes you have to open and close the lever a bunch of times to break the vacume seal.
