Injectors

will second gen 12 valve injectors work in an intercooled first gen?

RSWORDS 11-20-2009 09:31 PM

No. Couple reasons why. First the injector line nut is teh wrong thread, 2nd the pop pressure is off and finally the spray pattern is not perfect. You can put 2nd gen nozzles on 1st gen bodies and reset the pop pressure to work with teh VE but you still have a funny spray pattern.

nope they sure wont sorry bro

The spray pattern on the '91-98 intercooled 12v engines are the same 145°...

CumminsPowerOrNoPower 11-24-2009 05:56 AM

so putting the nozzles on the bodies would work, but what would be the downfall to the different spray pattern, if there is a difference. would the truck run ok?

I didn't know there was a debate.

I was under the impression that the spray angles were different on the 94 up trucks. I read that everywhere.:humm:

I thought they were also Richie, Getting mixed storys from a few different respectable injector guys.

The DSLA number designates the spray angle:

'89-91 DSLA155 P104 4x0.014"
'91-93 DSLA145 P265 6x0.010"
'94-98 DSLA145 P464 5x0.009"
'96-98 DSLA145 P477 5x0.010"

This should clear up the confusion.
